HOW TO DO A JUICE CLEANSE IN ORDER TO START 2014 WITH THE RIGHT FOOT

Many people have been asking about how to do a juice cleanse properly now that we are starting a new year, so I decided to make this post as a guide from personal experience and investigation, sorry it’s a bit long but it needs to be detailed. Many people think it’s complicated and so they buy pre-made cleanses which unless you're traveling or you are an extremely busy person I don’t recommend (not because they are bad but because fresh is always better). Here I provide you with several tips for people who have no idea how to do it.

A detox is tough, and the more toxic your life is, the more difficult it hits you, but after the first two days you start to feel really good, in fact after doing my first detox I was feeling so positive and great that I decided to transfer to a vegan diet.

Are you ready to start?

MERRY CHRISTMAS! OUR DELICIOUS CHRISTMAS EVE DINNER

First of all, Merry Christmas to all! from the depths of my heart I pray to God that you enjoy a thousand blessings this new year that is about to start, and I wish that you decide to take charge of your health and start introducing small changes that will ultimately improve and lengthen your life. Remember that every decision you make will have a big impact in the future. Set small goals that you can accomplish so you don’t get discouraged by trying to do too much at once. Add a green juice every morning, make green smoothies with fresh fruit, avoid products that come in cans/containers (processed) and prepare your dishes with real wholefoods in which you control the ingredients, stop artificial sweeteners and sugar, using Stevia instead, "move" every day either by doing yoga, dancing, jogging, pilates, jumping rope, climbing stairs, lifting weights…whatever inspires you, try not to eat animal protein in all your meals and substitute for veggies, beans, nuts, seeds and algae (chlorella, spirulina), drink more water, meditate, do what you really love and learn to say no.

We were alone this Christmas (most of our family lives in Venezuela), and my husband is a DJ (works every night of his life), so we decided to make an early, fully vegan dinner filled with super delicious recipes. All I can say is the meal exceeded our expectations (especially the beet ravioli!). I hope you also prepare it and enjoy at home.

EGGPLANT LASAGNA WITH RED LENTILS. (VEGAN)

Every time my mom came to visit me anywhere in the world where I've lived (I’m adventurous so it’s been a few), the first thing I ask her is if she can prepare me her eggplant lasagna. Unfortunately I haven’t seen her for a few months, so I decided to make my vegan version of it. Hopefully I can make it for her next time, and she gets to admit that it’s better than hers…well, maybe not better but equally delicious.

This lasagna is not only amazing (my husband is not vegan and he asked for seconds), but it’s healthy and made with vegetable ingredients only. Low fat, no dairy and of course, no meat.

I feel really satisfied with the result...it’s very creamy, light and full of flavor. Accompany it with a side of salad to balance it out with some refreshing raw veggies.

Here is the recipe!

HEALING TEAS (PART 2)

As promised, here is the second part of the healing teas series. These provide you with wonderful benefits and positively impact your health in an effective and affordable way!

1. Cinnamon: antibacterial , antiviral and anti-fungal. Increases blood flow improving circulation, reduces nausea, stops vomiting, relieves stomach upset, bloating, gas and indigestion, relieves sore throat, reduces cold symptoms and warms the body when suffering from chills. It has compounds that provide anticoagulant effects, but remember that blood clots are a serious (sometimes fatal) condition, and I recommend you to not use herbal remedies without consulting with your doctor first. It’s anti-inflammatory properties are useful for arthritis and other conditions fueled by inflammation. Helps lower blood sugar, because it contains a water soluble polyphenol compound called MHCP that improves how the body uses insulin. The antioxidants present in cinnamon stimulate the immune system and fights off the damage caused by free radicals. It’s aroma stimulates brain activity, resulting in increased cognitive ability, memory and alertness.

REVITALIZING MASKS FOR GORGEOUS SKIN AND HAIR

As I said on an earlier post, everyone needs to have a self love time out, and occasionally indulge in doing simple things that feel amazing, something special that gives us happiness and peace. In addition to that, one of the best things about being a woman (men can join of course), is the need to feel beautiful, delicate and our drive to keep ourselves fresh and healthy...so why not do it naturally?

Of course that going to a professional for a deep skin cleaning, a treatment at the salon or an exquisite massage at the spa is amazing and very necessary, but realistically not all of us have the time or the money to do so as much as we would like. So why deprive ourselves of these delicious and relaxing practices that also transform your skin and hair, in addition to calm your nervous system?

Here I leave you some amazing face and hair masks, plus some beauty tips you can apply at home any day of the week, with simple ingredients you can get at the local supermarket.

OUR THANKSGIVING LUNCH

Thanksgiving is not a holiday that we celebrate in my country Venezuela, but as a compulsive practitioner of thankfulness, I can't pass up the opportunity to join my husband and celebrate the abundance of positive things in our lives (besides taking the time to prepare something delicious to eat...ñum, ñum!).

This special date
is usually seen as an opportunity to gather with family which is lovely, but also as the chance to overeat on sometimes not so healthy food, desserts and refined sugars, and exercising the day after out of remorse for the binge eating. In our case, I wanted us to eat deliciously and in a way that we felt satisfied, but with the challenge that all the dishes needed to be vegan, organic, full of nutrients, complex carbs and good fats.

On top of that we decided to add two new traditions to this day, the first, to write a letter each where we specify all the things that have happened to us or that we have experienced this year for which we give thanks, and another letter in which we manifest and ask God for what we want for 2014. This allows us to feel grateful and fulfilled for all the blessings received and yet visualize in detail what we want for the future.

Here are the recipes for the three courses that we delighted in. They are super delicious and can be prepared at any time...your guests will love them too, vegan or not.

AFTER CHANGING MY LIFESTYLE AND DIET 6 MONTHS AGO, HOW AM I DOING? THE TRUTH, AND NOTHING ELSE

This weekend I was thinking a way to finish the last month of the year in a super positive way. First of all, I’m so thankful because during 2013 I have learned so many new things, overcame millions of fears, have studied, worked and was adventurous with my food and health in search of healing, was very loved and always held by God. Anyway, it’s been an incredible 365 days (and by that I don’t mean easy). Specifically, these last few months have been the best I've ever lived from a mental, spiritual and morale point of view. Definitely paying attention to your diet, exercise routine, giving yourself space, doing the little things you love, and venturing with activities that push you out of your comfort zone, takes you to a whole other level.

As I’ve always told you, I'm not a nutritionist, but I do investigate constantly from serious sources, seeking for any information that may help with my health needs. Which hasn’t been that great since a couple of years ago, and no traditional doctor seems to know the causes. Many times I thought it was psychological because every single time the tests came out perfect, but the symptoms were there as well. Many of them have disappeared through my lifestyle changes, but I still feel limited by certain things that give me pain and discomfort. The Romina from years ago, would've been depressed in a corner wondering, why me? probably in bed and living in a mental hole. Thank God now I see my symptoms as a challenge or puzzle, something that makes me strong and motivates me to investigate and try to solve (if that's possible), the mysteries of my body, not obsessing over it, but working little by little to my complete health and vitality. I have faith that it will come.

CHICKPEA AND KALE STEW

Today was cloudy, so for lunch I felt like preparing something comforting and delicious that was also relatively quick. So I decided to go for this dish that reminds me of my beautiful yaya (grandma), and that also has that touch of green that I love to add to my meals. The result was this delicious and healthy chickpea stew with kale.

DECORATING OUR TREE AND VEGAN BANANA PANCAKES

On Saturday, my husband Savy and I decided it was time to put up our (mini) Christmas tree. It’s no secret that I'm a nerd when it comes to this time of year...I LOVE IT…my childhood memories, family gatherings, gifts (I'm one of those that wakes up on Christmas day at 7 am to open the presents as if I was 10 years old), the atmosphere in the streets, the birth of Jesus…*sigh*

Unfortunately all our family is far away and is pretty lonely around here, that's why we brought the joy ahead of time, planned our Thanksgiving dinner already (which I'll post here), and brought the magic to the house. Besides, even if it sounds corny, we are trying to create certain traditions for when we have kids at home *wink wink*.

Here are the pictures and also the recipe for my vegan banana pancakes:

PRIMAL PIT PASTE GIVEAWAY!

Recently I posted about my favorite beauty products and talked about the one I struggled the most to find...deodorant. Finally five months ago, me and my husband found Primal Pit Paste, and after trying many natural options that sadly didn't work, I found this wonderful brand that truly passed the test in every situation.

Not only that, but their products are handmade here in Florida (yay for local!) with natural and organic ingredients. Created by a mom who wanted safe deodorants for her young children, they are aluminum and paraben free. Their ingredients are super simple: organic coconut oil, baking soda, essential oils, arrowroot flour and shea butter...you can almost eat them (not that you want to haha!).

Many people are hesitant to buy brands that are not found at drugstores, perhaps because they are not sure if they work, or because they are a bit more expensive than traditional ones. The other day thinking about that, I decided to write to Primal Pit Paste so that together we could offer my readers the opportunity to try their amazing product line for free, and they not only said yes, but also kindly offered me two packs of two deodorants each, one cream and one stick so you can discover which one is your favorite. I love supporting and receiving the support from a brand that I really use and love.

That's why today I’m super excited to announce the first Fit for the Journey giveaway courtesy of Primal Pit Paste…wohoo!

TIPS FOR A BETTER LIFE!

Sometimes we get so wrapped up in our daily duties, building up stress slowly in our system until we feel that the whole world is on our shoulders and we collapse, get depressed, unload our annoyance with family, friends and even strangers, we feel exhausted, overwhelmed and as if we were constantly in a hamster wheel that leads to nowhere... a constant battle against time.

It's time to stop this vicious cycle and allow ourselves to have small breaths throughout the day, moments devoted to ourselves, practices that fill us with happiness, and pauses that allow us to have a better life, why not? In order to love others you must first accept who you are and provide unconditional love to your gorgeous self. So never feel guilty for allowing you minutes to experience joy.

Here is a list of ideas that can add to your routine, you don’t have to apply all of them, or feel forced  to do them, that is precisely the opposite of what I want. Read them, write down the ones that appeal to you and begin to repeat them regularly to create a habit, so you don’t forget them quickly and fall again into the race you had before. Over time I guarantee you will feel their deep impact, the positive effect it creates in your mood, and the joy that comes with treating yourself with respect, compassion and love.

FINDING TOXIC FREE MAKEUP AT LAST

A couple of posts ago I mentioned how frustrated I was because I couldn't find makeup brands that were not only great looking on the skin, but that also didn't contain toxic ingredients, were tested on animals and were harmful to my health. Remember that our skin is the largest organ we have and everything that we put into it will be absorbed by our bodies.

After nearly five months of research, ordering samples online (as most of these alternative brands are not sold in most stores) and a lot of trial and error, I found several "jewels" that made me super happy (there are still a couple of basics that I haven't found such as powder shadows), but I'm on the search.

These products are really the ones I'm using at the moment, and remember that even if I recommend something specific, it doesn't mean that necessarily their whole line of cosmetics is just as safe (just in case always check www.ewg.org/skindeep) for the product punctuation and ingredient list.

CANDIDA, COULD IT BE THE ROOT OF MY TROUBLES?

Today I will talk about a perfect theme for halloween, because I'm kind of terrified of it haha! Normally it is not well understood, generates conflicting opinions, in the field of conventional medicine is sometimes not recognized as a real disease, and has been attributed million symptoms but "supposedly" there is no hard evidence that they are truly linked to it, except for many testimonies of people who have improved treating it, I'm talkin about candida. Normally when I heard the word candida I used to think of a vaginal infection, that you got cured with cream, but apparently I was very wrong.

Let me explain a bit better!

In our body, there's tons of  "good" and "bad" microorganisms who are responsible for keeping our intestinal flora in balance. These essential friendly bacteria, perform important functions in our body and assist in digestion, protect the intestinal mucosa, help white blood cells fight disease, provide important nutrients to the blood, prevent constipation and diarrhea by regulating out bowel movements. They also manufacture vitamins among other things.

Unfortunately when our immunity is compromised by our acidic diet, high sugar intake, processed carbohydrates, stress, pesticides and chemicals in our food and water, and the use of medications, especially hormones and antibiotics;
this delicate balance can be lost. The body goes into this state of weakness and the bad bacteria can multiply rapidly.

GROW FEST 2013

This past Saturday October 19, Savy and I decided to take a short trip to Redlands, FL (about an hour from Miami) to visit this beautiful area, characterized by the number of farms and nurseries that it has. Also we took the opportunity to attend Grow Fest, a festival that I saw advertised at Whole Foods in support of organic agriculture (for me any excuse to be outdoors is fantastic). Today in the "green spots" section, I'll give you a photo tour and my review on the event.

RECIPE: DELICIOUS MIXED SEED BREAD (GLUTEN FREE)

Since adopting a gluten free diet, I basically chose not to eat bread, since no option in the supermarket caught my attention and they are a bit expensive for their size, not only that, but some have ingredients  that seems unnecessary and don't convince me. For a long time I replaced my bread cravings with brown rice tortillas (store bought), but it's definitely not the same. Some mornings I want my little piece of toast and herbal tea. Searching through blogs I love (I'm still not that skilled with gluten free baking, which is a whole new different world) I found this recipe on deliciouslyella.com, tried it, loved it and decided to share it with you guys.

SUPERFOODS: CHLORELLA

Today I will talk about a super food that is never missing in my home. Not only that, but I talk about it to everyone who comes visit, and even made my mom buy a couple of bottles. I drink it every single morning in my smoothies (because it tastes a bit funny), usually mixed with spirulina. I'm talking about chlorella. Remember, as I had mentioned in prior posts, the body's pH must be balanced to keep us in good health and with optimal cellular oxygenation, chlorella not only helps you be alkaline but has so many benefits! This is truly a magical food.

Chlorella is a single celled freshwater microalgae, which throughout history has been able to survive thanks to its tough outer shell, which protects her genetic integrity. It's one of the most efficient foods on Earth because of the way it uses and concentrates sunlight. Able to reproduce four times every 24 hours, it's the fastest growing plant, with the highest content of chlorophyll on the planet. With it's dark green color, it's truly a super food because it is composed of ⅔ protein and ⅛ of chlorella growth factor (CGF), a complex of nucleotide-peptide made from beta glucans, nucleic acid, amino acids, polysaccharides and peptides that is only found in this plant.

RECIPE: QUINOA MEATLESS "MEATBALLS" WITH ZUCCHINI PASTA

This recipe pleasantly surprised my husband and I, because we never thought that it would have this level of flavor...so much that today he asked me if I could prepare it again! Sorry about the color of the photos, the light was terrible and I'm no expert in photoshop. This recipe was taken from an app called The Whole Pantry (recommended), and I made a few modifications. Run to the kitchen right now and prepare them because they are ultra delicious!

VIDEO OF OUR FIRST SHOW AS THE STEREO LIGHTS

As I had posted before, my husband and I a couple of months ago created a project called The Stereo Lights, where we sing and play live (with synthesizers and MIDI controllers), original tracks or remixes made by us of songs we love.

Our first show (and my debut singing in public), was in St. Barths as part of the "Summer Sessions" music festival during the month of August. We played at a very popular restaurant/lounge on the beach called "La Plage". The complete set lasted about 1 hour, but here is a summary of a few songs. Hope you enjoy it :) for me this is a completely new facet and I love developing it with my super talented husband Savy Fontana, who has been in the electronic music industry for over 15 years.

Here it is!

MY FIRST FIVE MONTHS ON A VEGGIE DIET AND IT'S PROFOUND IMPACT ON ME

During this weekend I was thinking that even though I have given you guys many recommendations, techniques, tips and recipes that I apply daily, I haven't been so self explanatory about my personal process. Let me tell you it has not been an easy one, but very rewarding! For years I have been eating healthy (or "clean"), but when I wanted to take it to the next level I started drinking vegetable and fruit juices daily. A few weeks after watching documentaries on animal abuse and the environmental damage that the meat industry generates, researching about GMO, inquiring about how people with cancer have transformed their lives through plant-based foods and the great benefits of lowering or eliminating animal protein in our diets, I decided to change to a veggie diet (full of natural foods, unprocessed and organic) and see how my body responded. Not only that, but as you already know, I removed all toxic personal products and household cleaners with harmful chemicals in them.

You are a world, you are unique and so are your needs, what works for one hurts another, and that's fascinating. The manifestation of our imperfections makes us humble, vulnerable, humans. I want you to see the reality of this process, to be inspired and take what resonates with you, and to have your participation and feedback. This blog is not to show you how perfect I am and for you to do things my way, on the contrary, it's a window into my trial and error while I intuitively discover how to improve my life and health through food, to rid myself from stress and dare to be truly happy by changing my perspective, to live in harmony with this planet and treat my body like a temple...with love and kindness, and not with aggression and self-criticism as I did for many years.

THE DOCUMENTARIES THAT INSPIRED MY LIFE TRANSFORMATION

As I mentioned earlier, I've been reading about nutrition for years because it's a subject that I'm really passionate about, but what really worked as a catalyst to take the radical decision as to change my diet and lifestyle, was to see these movies.

I remember one day sitting down to watch the documentary "Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead" and was left so thirsty for information that I began to see these five documentaries on the same weekend one after the other. Three days later I started my first juice cleanse (of 4 days) along with my husband, and it made me feel so good that I transitioned directly to a vegetable diet (first I said I was going to go vegetarian, keeping organic eggs and fish, but my body was not being so receptive of them so I decided to leave them out completely).

Five months later I have this wonderful blog that inspires me to be better every day, I eat intuitively and I 've noticed that my body responds great to a diet full of fruits, vegetables, super foods, seeds, nuts and grains (sporadically). I stopped drinking coffee or any other stimulant, using artificial sweeteners or refined sugar, white flour, dairy, meat or gluten.

The most important thing is that the change has transformed me not only on the outside, but in my way of looking at life itself, in my broken relationship with food, how I manage my weight and love my body. In exercising because I enjoy doing it, and not forcing myself to do the same routine every day...I'm gentle with my body, I listen and change my habits as I go. I learned to give thanks, to pray, to forgive myself, to not believe everything I hear just because it comes from a doctor or because TV commercials say it is excellent or "natural". I'm a persistent detective and investigator, I love to take the reins of my life, and these documentaries provided me with that last spark I so  needed! I hope they will have the same effect on you!

Here they are

RECIPE: SPRING PEPPERS

It's no secret that I've never been a great chef, in fact my husband is the one who has always cooked at home. Since I changed my way of eating to a whole veggie diet, the curiosity to start venturing with dishes I've never done, and take responsibility in the kitchen awoke. I prepared this recipe for lunch last Thursday and my husband literally licked his fingers (his version had mozzarella cheese on top). It's a light but satisfying meal, healthy, with great taste and full of vegetables.

DRY BRUSH, ANOTHER AMAZING RITUAL TO START YOUR DAY!

As you can see in the pic, I have quite a long morning routine. I think it's very important to start on the right foot and prep your body and mind for the day to come. Alkalizing, giving thanks, detoxing, invigorating, stretching and exercising will have a deep impact in your life, as it has done in mine. Today I'm going to talk to you about one of those non negotiable things for me...dry brushing.

Our body excretes about one pound of waste daily. If your pores are clogged, those toxins are reabsorbed instead of being eliminated.

Dry brushing (used in many spas), is a technique used to exfoliate skin with the help of a natural bristle brush, which basically means that it's fibers come from plant sources. Synthetic fibers are very hard and will leave you with irritated skin. In case you have very sensitive skin, you can also use loofah gloves.

This technique not only removes dead skin cells from the surface, but also stimulates cell production and provides smoother, brighter skin.

OUR THIRD WEDDING ANNIVERSARY AND VISIT TO THE VIZCAYA MUSEUM & GARDENS

On September 11, my husband and I celebrated our third wedding anniversary. The truth is that since we went to St. Barths as a holiday to celebrate it, we had nothing planned (or so I thought). Savy suddenly surprised me by asking me to wear comfortable shoes because we were going to a mistery site (yay!).

Upon entering with the car, I was immediately transported to Italy...gardens everywhere, statues, and in the center of everything, a magestic home. It's called the Vizcaya Museum and Garden. I honestly had no idea that something like this existed in Miami, and if you live here or are just visiting I recommend you to come and spend a romantic day in this spectacular mansion that was built between 1914-1922.

Here I show you a photo tour of our adventure...

RECIPE: SAVY'S CARIBBEAN SWEET POTATOES

This recipe was created last week by my husband when I was having a huge craving for "chips". They are incredibly easy to make and the flavor is DELICIOUS! In addition, sweet potatoes are complex carbohydrates that are high in manganese, which helps maintain blood sugar at a good level and stabilizes the appetite for hours. They have twice the fiber of any potato, posses vitamin B6 which helps heart health, is rich in beta carotene, a powerful antioxidant that protects the cells of your skin internally from sun damage and helps maintain the eye health. They are also rich in vitamin E and C, antioxidant vitamins essential to prevent disease and promote longevity.

Yum yum yum....!

MY FAVORITE NATURAL COSMETICS RIGHT NOW

In the previous post, I wrote about the most chemicals that are added to our everyday products and how they can negatively affect our body. In this past year I've been testing and researching many brands and products, some natural but not so good and others that are great but not so natural. I always keep looking for the best options on the market, but generally, is not a black or white issue and it becomes difficult (there are too many hidden ingredients).

Here is a list of the products I use at the moment, I hope it makes it a little easier and guide's you in the right direction so you can replace the toxic cosmetics you still have at home, with smarter choices. An important clarification is that when I recommend a product doesn't necessarily mean I'm supporting the whole brand, as what they use for their other lines may contain ingredients that I don't agree with. Remember to always check http://www.ewg.org/skindeep/ to review the score and content of the products (just ask my husband how long I usually take in the "beauty" aisle of the supermarket, checking on the phone what I'm interested in getting). But I know that my efforts are worth it.

Many of these brands can be purchased only through the web, and usually cost a bit more than what you 're used to, but you will be paying for high quality ingredients and safer cosmetics. On the other hand, I don't use millions of unnecessary items and have saved some money there. Less is more!

WHAT'S HIDDEN INSIDE OUR COSMETICS?

* Warning: reading this post is worse than watching a horror movie on halloween at 3 am*

Today's women uses about 12 beauty products each day, that equals to 126 ingredients applied to our skin continuously. What we must realize is that the skin is our largest organ and that 70% of what we pour on our bodies is absorbed either through ingestion, inhalation, breast milk, placenta skin and mucous membranes of the nose, eyes and mouth.

This is concerning, mainly because although we buy products that look and smell incredibly good, within them are hidden a mixture of dangerous synthetic chemicals, including carcinogens (cancer-causing), teratogenics (birth defects), reproductive toxicants, and endocrine disruptors.

RECIPE: SMOOTHIE SUPER BOWL

I must admit that I'm head over heels when it comes to transforming my morning smoothies into delicious creamy bowls. I get creative with fun toppings of nuts, seeds, grains and super foods, also playing with different combinations of fruits and greens depending on my mood that day. I usually eat it as a pre-workout breakfast mainly because fruits fill you up with energy, fiber and antioxidants, greens oxygenate your cells and nuts and seeds provide a much needed protein kick.

MY NEW MORNING LOVE: OIL PULLING

One of those things that instantly resonated with me when I read about is “oil pulling”, immediately I started doing it as a part of my morning routine. This is a healing method of traditional ayurvedic medicine that was introduced to the modern world in 1992 by Dr. F. Karach, who claimed that cures a wide range of diseases.

Our mouths are full of viruses, bacteria, fungi and parasites that consistently, when our immune system is compromised, take advantage in damaging our gums and teeth, also sometimes traveling through our body and blood resulting in secondary infections. The oil acts as a cleaner that extracts all those toxins and congestion, collects and allows it to easily be ejected. Many naturopathic physicians recommend oil pulling as a powerful form of detoxification and healing.

ST BARTHS, VACATIONS AND GOOD MUSIC

Three weeks ago I visited the island of St. Barths with my husband to introduce our new musical project The Stereo Lights during the St. Barths Summer Sessions festival and also took the opportunity to take a pre – anniversary holiday.
In fact it is the first time I travel since I made the transition to a vegan diet and had my reservations, but that is why I went super prepared.

WHY JUICE? IS IT ANOTHER FAD DIET?

It’s been two years since I bought a juicer and started drinking one juice daily, I used to mix fruit and veggies and didn't have a clear idea what it did for me, but I’ve heard that it was great for detoxing and for increasing the intake of fruits and veggies  in a short amount of time. Little by little, as I started to investigate, reading and watching documentaries I realized how vital it is to add veggie juices to your daily diet. But why?

ACID VS ALKALINE, THE BATTLE THAT COULD SAVE YOUR LIFE!

One really interesting matter that’s helped me a lot in regards, of what foods to choose on a daily basis it’s learning how to balance my body’s pH and how this directly impacts my health (that’s why I think I don’t get the flu anymore…hooray!...knockin’ on wood) and now I’m going to explain it to you guys, so it can be applied with every meal… things are going to get a little scientific but there’s really no other way to explain it.
